VELVET POETRY

Early December

You & I in South beach, you’re snapping silky memories of me in my lingerie
Focus and flash, sparkle and fade
Film shots of white sheets as the sun sets
Warm sea air, pulling my hair
We forgot anyone else was there
With not a moment to spare, I just stared
Into your eyes, an abyss of mysteries
a deep pool of wonders
What future lay ahead
I couldn’t help but think as I laid in that bed
The adventures, the passion
The heart break, the detachment
and as I drifted farther down these paths
I remembered to live in the moment, so I looked at you and laughed
More like a giggle but sensual and almost like a riddle
You can’t figure me out
& that’s something you like most about me
